The college of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed today the doctoral thesis entitled: “The effectiveness of the counseling program in eye health for secondary school students in the city of Karbala” by doctoral student Nabil Abdul Razzaq, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, in the great hall of the college.
The study aimed to determine the level of effectiveness of the counseling program in eye health for secondary school students in the holy city of Karbala
The research results showed that the effectiveness of the program was significantly positive and noticeable on the group that was subjected to the study. This effectiveness was reflected in improving students’ practices related to eye care, in terms of: Eye hygiene and reducing pollutants Avoiding contact with contaminated objects Early examination when a health issue occurs
The researcher confirmed that these behavioral changes are directly reflected in reducing the incidence of eye diseases and related health issues
This thesis is a qualitative addition to the scientific library and contributes directly to achieving the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (good health and well-being), by promoting the preventive health of school-age youth and protecting their basic senses, which supports ensuring a healthy life for all.
